Job Title: Trainer/Educator

Job Description

  1. Manages and facilitates Abrete Sesamo curriculum to Spanish speaking employees.
  2. Coordinates the delivery of services between partners.
  3. Assists with the recruitment of employers with a large number of Latino or Spanish speaking employees to participate in the program.
  4. Provides detailed account of weekly activity.
  5. Responsible for the gathering and submission of data. Provide reports to project leaders.
  6. Arranges up to three full-day sessions of Abrete Sesamo:
    a.) Identifies locations
    b.) Markets program to community agencies
    c.) Recruits participants
    d.) Coordinates with facilitators

Required qualifications

  • Must be fluent in both Spanish and English
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Interest in working with low-income and immigrant population
  • Experience in teaching adult learners with a range of literacy levels
  • Ability to adapt curriculum to meet the need of the participants
  • Knowledge of the US healthcare system
  • Knowledge of the Central Ohio Latino Community and its resources
  • Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license

  • Communication: Listens well and conveys cultural understanding; expresses ideas, suggestions or concerns in a professional, mature manner; and presents thoughts clearly and concisely.
  • Interpersonal: Displays a mature, positive, professional attitude and maintains an appropriate and respectful demeanor when speaking with clients or other staff members.

Desired qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Hours: up to 10 hours of work per week for period beginning April 2010 and ending December 2010.
