Tomorrow (Tue. 4/15), the Senate State & Local Government committee is expected to vote on SB 260. The bill would allow a local sheriff to detain people who are charged with civil violations of immigration law, as well as allowing them to cooperate with federal investigations and enforcement.

There are rumors that the bill MIGHT go before the full Senate this week. It is critical that we reach out to Senate leadership and urge them not to let SB 260 go to a floor vote.

Messages from law enforcement, business leaders, immigrant community leaders, and others would be especially helpful.
