Project Manager, Champion of Children

United Way of Central Ohio is seeking a Project Manager, Champion of Children.  The Project Manager manages all aspects of the Champion of Children (COC) program, which supports United Way’s broad work in Education.  The Project Manager establishes and maintains relationships with individual donors, Patrons and Champion Partners and manages all communication efforts for the program, including the Education Journal.  Supports the nomination and selection of annual COC award winners.  Responsible for planning and implementing the annual COC Signature Event as an opportunity for increasing awareness, understanding and support for COC.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, liberal arts or a related field and a minimum of 2-3 years of work-related experience.  Candidate must have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and excel at cross-functional collaboration.  Strong computer skills required, including fluency in Microsoft Office and other online and database programs.  COMPETITIVE SALARY with EXCELLENT benefits and FREE parking.

A Full Time Coordinator is needed for the operation of a Family Resource Center (FRC) at Woodward Elementary school in Delaware, Ohio. The FRC will provide the services needed for developing/creating/sustaining families in the Woodward neighborhood so that children take full advantage of the educational opportunities provided by school.

The successful candidate will have:

• a minimum of 2-4 years social service experience, including navigation of community systems, preferably within the Delaware area
• prior program management experience;
• demonstrated knowledge of needs assessments and asset mapping;
• initiated and maintained collaborative partnerships;
• experience in diversity of cultures, including low income;
• experience in facilitating and/or teaching adults and with adult learning styles;
• demonstrated knowledge of school systems operations;
• an understanding of outcome based funding;
• working knowledge of early childhood and general child care issues

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in Social Work or Education. Bi-lingual in Spanish is desired.

CAPA is willing to make a contribution to LEON if we are able to provide some time volunteering at the information booths.
This is a wonderful opportunity for LEON to have a strong presence at the festival. I know many of you enjoy the festival and am asking that if you are able to, please be kind with your time and volunteer for a few hours. The festival is a fun,safe time and a very easy way to connect with the community, demonstrate our support, interest and commitment to our city.

Job Title: Trainer/Educator

Job Description

1. Manages and facilitates Abrete Sesamo curriculum to Spanish speaking employees.
2. Coordinates the delivery of services between partners.
3. Assists with the recruitment of employers with a large number of Latino or Spanish speaking employees to participate in the program.
4. Provides detailed account of weekly activity.
5. Responsible for the gathering and submission of data. Provide reports to project leaders.
6. Arranges up to three full-day sessions of Abrete Sesamo:
   a.) Identifies locations
   b.) Markets program to community agencies
   c.) Recruits participants
   d.) Coordinates with facilitators

Required qualifications

• Must be fluent in both Spanish and English
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Interest in working with low-income and immigrant population
• Experience in teaching adult learners with a range of literacy levels
• Ability to adapt curriculum to meet the need of the participants
• Knowledge of the US healthcare system
• Knowledge of the Central Ohio Latino Community and its resources
• Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license
